Arms case registered against woman arrested in Karachi drug raid

Police in Karachi have registered an additional weapons case against a woman arrested earlier on allegations of operating a drug distribution network in the city.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), authorities recovered a pistol from the possession of the suspect, identified as Anmol alias Pinky, during a raid conducted in the Garden West area. Police said the suspect failed to provide a valid license for the weapon, leading to the registration of a separate arms recovery case.

The suspect was previously arrested from a residential apartment in Garden during an operation linked to alleged narcotics trafficking. Following media coverage of the case, the property owner reportedly asked for the apartment to be vacated.

Meanwhile, residents associated with the apartment address mentioned in the FIR have expressed concern, claiming they have been living there as tenants for the past eight years and do not know the accused woman. The family questioned how their home address appeared in the police report and said the situation had caused them severe mental distress.

The case gained further attention after an alleged audio recording surfaced online in which the suspect was purportedly heard challenging police authorities before her arrest.

Police claim to have recovered a pistol, cocaine worth millions of rupees, chemicals, and other narcotic substances during the raid. Investigators allege that the suspect was involved in operating a citywide drug supply network and was wanted in multiple criminal cases.

According to officials, the accused allegedly used online methods and specific delivery riders for narcotics distribution, including female riders to avoid suspicion.

Authorities say investigations are continuing to identify other members of the alleged network and trace supply routes linked to the operation. Law enforcement agencies have described the suspect as a key figure in an organised narcotics distribution system operating in Karachi.
